Shiv Sagar, the grandson of legendary Ramanand Sagar recently launched his show Kaakbhushandi Ramayan. The show has received a thunderous response from the audiences for its presentation and refined VFX. The show was recently screened in the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
The show has been successfully running on Doordarshan and has been winning hearts. Talking about how grateful he is about receiving so much love for the show, Shiv shared,” My heart is full with so much love that has been showered on the show. People have loved the show for its modern day take and yet keeping the old school nostalgia alive. I have received ample messages from people around the nation appreciating the show and honestly there is nothing more gratifying than this. We have put our heart and soul into the making of Kaakbhushandi Ramayan and I’m glad people are loving it.”

At a time when television was in its nascent stages in India, Ramanand Sagar’s “Ramayan” became the most-watched television series, with an estimated viewership of over a billion people globally. It has been broadcast in over 65 countries and has remained on-air since its first telecast on 25th January 1987.
Sagar World Multimedia, headed by Shiv Sagar, continues the legacy of creating impactful content. Shiv Sagar’s father, Prem Sagar, who was the marketing director of Sagar Arts and an award-winning cinematographer, directed the award-winning series “Vikram Aur Betal” in 1985. This series became the precursor to “Ramayan,” serving as a test-marketing effort for this new genre, which was non-existent at the time.
