World Council for Academic Accreditation Announces Global Certification Initiative to Strengthen Education, Skills, and Leadership Across Emerging Markets

New York, May 26, 2026 — The World Council for Academic Accreditation (WCAA), the US based not-for-profit organization advancing work aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in a press release this month announced the launch of a new global certification initiative designed to strengthen classroom practice, child and adult skill development, institutional leadership, and social project management across partner countries.

Speaking at a press conference in New York, WCAA spokesperson Prof. Joseph Tucker said the organization is introducing five certification programs under its Global Development Program Initiative (GDP), or GDP Initiative, to support educators, institutional leaders, and development professionals preparing learners and systems for a changing global economy.

The certifications announced by World Council for Academic Accreditation include:

CP-CFM – Certification Program in Classroom Facilitation Management.

CP-CSD – Certification Program in Child Skill Development.

CP-ASD – Certification Program in Adult Skill Development.

CP-ILD – Certification Program in Institutional Leadership Development.

CP-SPM — Certification Program in Social Project Management.

According to the World Council for Academic Accreditation, the programs will be offered at multiple levels and tailored for educators in schools, colleges, vocational skill development institutes, and related institutions. WCAA said the initiative is intended to help build stronger learning ecosystems, improve facilitation and leadership capacity, and support future-ready learners and institutions.

The organization also said its 2026-27 funding target is to raise half a million dollars from partners to partially or fully support delivery of the five certification programs. The funds are expected to back pilot implementation in selected countries across Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, in collaboration with skill development partners and government agencies.

WCAA said the broader pilot phase aims to reach 1 million people under SDG 4 and 3 million people across relevant SDGs before expanding toward a wider global rollout.

World Council for Academic Accreditation’s wider development work has already impacted more than 1 million beneficiaries across African countries through skill development related initiatives in 2025, and that its alliance model with world’s best agencies like United Nations continues to focus on partnerships that advance poverty reduction, education access, decent work, and sustainable development outcomes.

Further information on the initiative is available at WCAA’s GDP initiative page and official social channels.
