“Most of my characters live in my immediate surroundings. By observing them closely, I fill my imagination with vibrant colors and then pour them onto the pages through my pen.”
4. Your book delves into women’s issues. What motivated you to explore this theme, and what message do you hope readers take away from your work?
“The core theme of most stories in my book is women’s discourse. My aim is to draw the attention of this male-dominated society toward middle-class women.
In the name of ‘honor,’ ‘tradition,’ and the struggle to keep their families together, these women wear a beautiful mask while sacrificing their entire lives. They keep smiling in front of everyone, yet no one truly understands the festering wounds that silently cause them pain.
My objective is to bring the reality of their lives to the forefront.”
5. The world-building in your stories feels rich and immersive. How did you create the setting?
“Everything I write is inspired by the real world. I deeply admire the works of timeless literary legends because we can learn so much from them.
My language is realistic and simple, ensuring that it remains accessible and easy for everyone to understand.”
6. As a writer, how do you balance originality with the expectations of the genre?
“I have never really faced challenges in this regard. When I write, I place myself in the skin of each character. I personally experience their emotions and their unspoken words, and the writing flows naturally.”
7. The pacing of your stories keeps readers engaged. What is your approach to maintaining tension and momentum?
“To maintain the pace of a story, a writer must mentally inhabit the situation where events are unfolding. The narrative should also be refined by reading it repeatedly to remove flaws.
Dedication and patience are essential qualities for every writer.”
8. In today’s rapidly changing digital age, how do you see traditional storytelling evolving?
“It is true that much is changing in the digital age. However, technology has not yet reached every segment of Indian society.
There is still a section of people unfamiliar with computers and online systems. Many remain bound by superstitions, outdated traditions, and patriarchal thinking. These people belong to the common middle class.
Storytelling for this section of society has evolved from traditional to modern forms, but the aim remains the same—to reach the common person and touch their hearts.”
