“Raahgir – The Wayfarers” Leaves a Lasting Impression at Pune International Film Festival with Producer Amit Agarwal and Director Goutam Ghose

Pune, January 24, 2024: The screening of “Raahgir – The Wayfarers” at the Pune International Film Festival garnered immense praise as Producer Amit Agarwal, known for his involvement in impactful films like “M S Dhoni – The Untold Story” and “Simran,” showcased his latest creation. Directed by the National Award-winning filmmaker Goutam Ghose, the film stars Adil Hussain, Tillotama Shome, Neeraj Kabi, and Omkardas Manikpuri, captivating the audience with its emotional portrayal of the struggles faced by impoverished individuals traversing India on foot in search of economic opportunities.

The storyline of “Raahgir – The Wayfarers” revolves around three characters forging connections amidst their journey for livelihood. Filmed in the picturesque state of Jharkhand, with extensive shooting in Ranchi and Netarhat, the movie delves into the depths of human empathy during times of crisis.

Amit Agarwal, the producer, expressed his satisfaction with the overwhelming response at the Pune International Film Festival, highlighting the engagement of the audience through pertinent questions. He conveyed plans to showcase the film at various international film festivals before its theatrical release in India.

Director Goutam Ghose shared insights into the film, emphasizing its focus on India’s impoverished, living in the forests and struggling to make ends meet. He celebrated the enduring humanity within these individuals despite their daily battles for survival, showcasing the stark contrast between Indian reality in cities and impoverished tribal villages.

“Raahgir: The Wayfarers” had previously received acclaim at prestigious film festivals, including Busan International Film Festival, MAMI – Mumbai Film Festival, Shanghai International Film Festival, CinemAsia Film Festival (Amsterdam), KIFF – Kolkata International Film Festival, and IFFK – International Film Festival of Kerala.
