“Love Triumphs: Uniting Humanity for Peace”- Dr. Ahmed Haque

The old saying goes that love conquers all. But in the modern world, it is not always clear which side of the battle warring against each other. It is easy to see why some people would think that love has lost its power when we hear about terrorism and violence happening around the world.

And yet, every day there are also stories of hope — like students joining together for peace marches or welcoming refugees into their homes (like India ). These acts may seem small but they show us how powerful our collective actions can be in changing this world for good.

The world is a battlefield

The world is a battlefield — love vs. hate. One cannot exist without the other- they are like night and day to one another in so many ways; skin tone or accentuation for example.

And yet we all know firsthand that this isn’t always true because there have been times when people were able (and willing) to put aside their differences just long enough to build something beautiful together as friends…or even more than friends!

I am so sure that everyone who is reading this blog post supports the love team. Our hearts desire that love takes over the world and rules it. Then why is the hate team is so strong? Why there are two different worlds — a beautiful one full of love and happiness that you can see with your heart in any place on Earth but it feels like there is another place out there where darkness dwells because we just say we support the love team from our mouth, not from our heart. Our behavior often contradicts what we say.

We say we want a peaceful world, but in the same breath disrupt it with violence. We are both creators and destroyers of peace. In fact, it becomes difficult for us to see any good or beauty surrounding us because our thoughts are constantly on anything bad that is happening in the world.

What are some ways to bring peace into the world again?

First and foremost, we need people to care. We need the majority of humanity to care for the well-being of all members of our species, not just themselves. Increasing empathy levels among humans would be a great step forward in making peace more meaningful.

Next, stop looking at violence as a way out or justice being one person’s victory over another person’s wrongs. It leads us down a path with no possible positive outcome for anyone involved in it — you can’t take revenge without fueling vengeance.

How much better it would be if instead of taking someone else down, one was able to help them rise? What if our goal is building each other up instead of tearing each other down?

What can we do on an individual level to make this happen?

All of us together can work towards this goal by using our voices to speak out about all the good things that are happening around the world, and the positive values that we believe in.

If people take notice of what’s happening in everyday life, there is power in numbers. Communities all over the world will bear witness to atrocities if enough people make it clear through their online activism — in forums like Facebook or Twitter where they can be anonymous — that this is not acceptable.

One person could make a difference every day! It’s amazing how one person who spoke up publicly against slavery and fought for years (he died before he succeeded) made all the difference to end in America.

How can you fight against hatred in your own life?

As an individual, you can’t change society as a whole. But you can always try to plant the seeds of change in others. And it starts with yourself because if you are hateful or unkind to anyone else, they may take you as an example and act similarly.

Instead of fighting with a hater, you should forgive them — this way you’re less likely to hurl vitriol at someone else.

To conclude

We can all help to spread positivity and kindness in the world. Let’s join forces and work together to make love win so that it conquers the entire world. No matter our differences, we all share one thing in common-we want a better future for ourselves, our children, and everyone else on this earth.
