New Delhi, March 11, 2026: GAIL (India) Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RailTel Corporation of India Limited to jointly explore new opportunities in the telecom and digital infrastructure sectors in India.
The agreement was signed on March 5, 2026, by S. S. Agrawal, Executive Director (O&M-CO), GAIL, and J. S. Marwah, CS & GGM (Law), RailTel. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of senior leadership from both organisations, including Rajeev Kumar Singhal, Director (Business Development), GAIL, and Sanjai Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of RailTel.
Partnership to Strengthen India’s Digital Backbone
Speaking about the collaboration, Deepak Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of GAIL, emphasized that the partnership aligns with the company’s long-term strategic vision.
“This partnership is fully in sync with our vision to integrate energy and digital infrastructure, leveraging the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI). These technologies will play a crucial role in supporting India’s development journey,” he said.

Highlighting the importance of the collaboration, Sanjai Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of RailTel, stated that the partnership will help expand reliable communication infrastructure across the country.
“RailTel is committed to strengthening India’s digital backbone through robust and secure communication infrastructure. Our collaboration with GAIL will enable both organisations to combine their strengths in network infrastructure and technological capabilities to accelerate the expansion of reliable digital connectivity across India,” he said.
