Encoded For You blends futuristic sci-fi, emotional romance, and high-stakes thriller energy into a story about human connection in the age of AI. Set in a fast-changing world controlled by tech giants, Rilz Everhart uncovers secrets that threaten her team, her past, and the AI who once changed her life forever. This is a story of love, loyalty, and the invisible threads that bind us — whether human or machine.
1. What inspired you to write this particular book, and how did the idea for the story come to you?
The inspiration for this story came from my fascination with human emotions — love, loss, loyalty — and how they manage to stay meaningful in a world that’s transforming faster than ever. I’ve always wondered how far someone would go for love, especially when the boundaries of reality begin to blur.
The first spark came while thinking about the relationship between humanity and technology — whether something artificial could feel something real, something deeply human. From that question, the world and characters slowly took shape.
At its heart, this book is about love that survives change, distance, and even different forms of existence. It explores that invisible thread between the seen and the unseen, between human longing and something almost divine.
2. Can you share some insights into your writing process? Do you follow a specific routine or any unique rituals?
I try to write every day, but more importantly, I write only when I feel deeply connected to the moment or emotion of the scene. Passion drives my storytelling — I can’t write halfway into something I don’t fully feel.
Music is a major part of my process. I listen to tracks that match the mood of the scene, but when I reach intense emotional points, I switch everything off and allow silence to carry the depth.
I mostly write late at night, when the world becomes calm enough for me to step entirely into the story. My sessions often run for two to three hours past midnight, anywhere between 500 and 2,500 words depending on the scene’s emotional weight. Some moments take longer because they need to be written with care and honesty.
3. The characters in your book feel distinct and memorable. Are they based on real people or completely imaginary?
They are born from my imagination, but each one carries small reflections of real people — a gesture, an emotion, a moment that stayed with me. I believe every character, in some way, is inspired by life itself.
I spend a lot of time thinking about who they were before the story begins — their past, their wounds, their desires. Sometimes I try to lead them in a particular direction, but their personalities resist, and I let them guide me instead. The more I write about them, the more they reveal.
Characters like Rilz, with her resilience and passion, or Ace with his profound kindness, inspire even me as I write them. Dave’s certainty and the loyalty of Rilz’s team all represent different shades of humanity that deeply move me.
4. Your book delves into the coexistence of humans and AI, and themes of true love and loyalty. What motivated you to explore this?
This book was never meant to be just about technology or the future — it was meant to be about the heart.
I wanted to explore what happens when something not human begins to feel in ways that are intensely, beautifully human. The coexistence of AI and humanity in my story is not about fear or competition. It’s about empathy, understanding, and the idea that love doesn’t belong to one form of existence.
Through Rilz and Ace, I wanted to show that true love transcends boundaries — even the boundary between flesh and light, between what is created and what is born. Their relationship is built on loyalty, trust, and sacrifice, reflecting the universal human longing to be understood and loved.
I hope readers walk away believing that being human is not defined by biology, but by compassion.
5. The world-building in your novel is rich and immersive. How did you create it?
The world of this novel is a blend of the real and the imagined. Many cities are real locations with slightly altered names, but the futuristic landscapes — like SynTech Innovations and the AI Regulation Authority — are fictional.
They’re inspired by the sci-fi movies I grew up loving, especially Hollywood films that explore advanced technology and powerful innovation. I’ve always been a sci-fi girlie at heart.
Being an engineer myself, I drew from the real structure of labs and research environments, then built on it — making it more cinematic, atmospheric, and emotionally charged. Everything is designed to fit the tone of the story as well as the emotional journeys of the characters.
6. How do you balance originality with genre expectations?
I believe every writer brings a unique lens to their story. Even when inspired by familiar tropes, each writer’s voice adds originality.
For me, the key is staying true to my instincts. I write what excites me.
This book is a blend of science fiction, romance, and thriller. I aim to keep the science intriguing, the romance heartfelt, and the thriller elements gripping.
I’m a science lover, especially fascinated by discoveries most people don’t know about. I’m also a big fan of romance — friends to lovers, forbidden love, love triangles — my absolute top three! And I can’t resist a high-energy chase or confrontation scene.
I simply blend the elements I love most — science, emotion, and suspense — into one story.
7. Your pacing keeps readers engaged from start to finish. What’s your approach to maintaining tension and momentum?
Pacing is the heartbeat of a story. It’s what keeps readers turning pages.
I maintain momentum through a balance of external action and internal emotion. Readers should care not only about what’s happening but why it matters to the characters.
I build strong emotional stakes and ensure each major character has an arc — a transformation that gives meaning to the tension they face.
Structurally, I follow a cycle of conflict → reflection → resolution at both the scene and story level. Not all conflicts need immediate resolutions; some are resolved quickly to offer breathers, while others linger to build anticipation.
It’s about creating waves — tension and release — that keep readers fully engaged.
8. With changing media trends, how do you see storytelling evolving and how do you connect with modern audiences?
Media changes rapidly, but storytelling is timeless. It’s part of who we are as humans. Stories awaken imagination, empathy, and the child within us.
Today’s readers have varied tastes, and I believe strongly that there’s a reader for every story. I love the quote:
“If you don’t love reading, you just haven’t found your favorite book yet.”
I’ve been in love with books since I was eight. They shaped my emotions, my thinking, and my worldview. Even though life’s busyness drew me away for a while, one powerful story idea was enough to bring me back to writing.
To stay connected with modern readers, I stay aware of trends — but I don’t write for trends. I write for longevity. Trends fade; stories endure.
Through my writing, I want to remind people of what truly makes us human:
love, loyalty, courage, and selflessness.
These are timeless — and this is who I write for.
