Corporate Cricket Triumph: GPM Architects Crowned ECCL Season 2 Champions

Gurugram, March 21, 2024: The culmination of Euronics Corporate Cricket League (ECCL) Season 2 in Delhi-NCR marked a resounding success, with Gian P Mathur and Associates (GPM Architects) emerging victorious in a thrilling finale against Design Forum International.

Euronics, renowned as India’s premier public washroom automation accessory brand, orchestrated the highly anticipated ECCL Season 2, aiming to foster camaraderie and promote physical fitness among corporate employees. Established in 2002, Euronics has solidified its position as a leader in the public washroom automation accessories segment, serving diverse sectors such as IT, hospitality, commercial buildings, airports, industries, and retail spaces.

The Delhi-NCR leg of ECCL Season 2 witnessed intense competition among corporate giants, featuring esteemed names including NBCC, CPWD, PVR INOX, Shapoorji Pallonji, CBRE, JLL, Savills, Blue Star, Godrej Properties, Bharti Realty, and many more.

GPM Architects secured their path to victory with an exemplary display of cricketing prowess, culminating in a dominant performance in the final match. After a series of intense encounters, including nail-biting semi-finals, GPM Architects emerged as the first finalist with a commendable net run rate of 6.935.

In the finale, facing off against Design Forum International, GPM Architects showcased their bowling expertise, limiting their opponents to an average score of 65/6 in 8 overs. With a target in sight, GPM Architects executed an aggressive batting strategy, chasing down the score in just 4.3 overs with 8 wickets in hand. Shivam Tiwari’s remarkable innings of 39 runs off 13 balls further solidified their victory, clinching the championship title for GPM Architects.

As a recognition of their achievement, GPM Architects was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 along with the prestigious championship trophy. Meanwhile, the runner-up, Design Forum International, received a cash prize of Rs. 25,000.

The matches were held over two days at the Wisteria Sports Club in Baliawas, Gurugram, witnessing an enthusiastic turnout of over 3000 spectators, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the tournament.

Viknesh Jain, CEO & MD of Euronics, expressed his excitement about ECCL’s success, highlighting its transformation into a celebrated tradition in the corporate world. He emphasized the league’s role in promoting camaraderie and fostering a new era of corporate sports culture in India.

Looking ahead, Euronics plans to expand the ECCL to additional cities, including Mumbai and Ahmedabad, aiming to organize a grand finale titled “Super ECCL,” where champions from various cities will compete for the ultimate championship title.
