First Look of ‘Lachminiya’ Revealed: A Tale of Caste Struggles and Social Change

The first look of the Hindi film Lachminiya, produced under the banners of Filmenia Film Factory, Natarang Entertainment, and Rambbo Film Production, has officially been released on social media. The film stars Tanushree Chatterjee and Sintu Singh Sagar in the lead roles and is directed by Ritesh S Kumar. The film’s producer is Ajitabh Tiwari, with a script penned by Vishal Pandey and Divyanshu Mishra. Ashish Donald is the music director, AB Mohan serves as the lyricist, Badal Mani is the DOP, Arjun Markaba handles editing, and the art direction is by Ashok. The publicity design is credited to Creative Art Studio.

In Lachminiya, Tanushree Chatterjee takes on a distinctly different role, portraying a simple rural woman in a powerful and challenging performance, far from her previous characters. Sintu Singh Sagar, playing her counterpart, embodies a humble rural man.

Tanushree Chatterjee announced the film’s first look on her Instagram, with a thought-provoking caption: “Koi bhi jati nich nahi hoti lekin kuch nich har jati mein hote hain… It’s an art film (Hindi)”. Watch here.

The film delves deep into the harsh realities of the caste system, portraying the pain and suffering endured by lower castes at the hands of upper-caste society for centuries. This powerful narrative sheds light on the long-standing social injustice, echoing the unheard cries of those trapped in a cycle of oppression.

More than just a film, Lachminiya serves as a reminder that a person’s worth is defined by their actions, not their caste. It promises to entertain while delivering a profound message about humanity and social equality.
